This weekend the reworked 'new' body was ready at the paint shop so I went to look how it's worked out. All flaws have been solved, it looks awesome in this color:
Here the tectyl wax is being put on, hence the plastic cover underneath the car.
And under the bonnet:
Note the VIN: It is supposed to look that way, only primer. Next Friday it will be transported to our own garage and we can start mounting stuff again.
I was lucky Edwin's 2002 tii Alpina was nearby, it's been restored perfectly (and for those who followed my projekt: Toyo TEO's are mounted so that's probably the tire I'll go for anyway as they are 250 euros cheaper. Each!):
That way I could quickly take pictures of where all the factory stickers belong:
I've found a German company which reproduces these and I already have them at home. I only miss the 'Ausenlackierung: Inka Orange'. I'll probably end up having that made myself.

good lord the want is strong here. Are you going for the black alpina decals on the touring?

Lovely!

Wow.
Rare Touring.
Such orange.
Much like.

I spy a 6 series in the back...

Very nice paint job! I'm liking it.

glad to see it looking so fresh! a fun place to be too, other nice BMs to look at, and how can anyone resist a wall of engines

Holy monkey! That is going to be amazing!

I can't WAIT to see this one finished. Or the progress, for that matter!

Verrrry nice! What motor will go in this?
![]() 04/23/2014 at 10:16 |

so. Awesome.

I wasn't planning on it. Not sure if it'll work out right. But you've got me thinking about it now so that's a start.

Thanks. I've got another red one for you if you want. Just bring lots of sheet metal and welding gear.

Yeah, it's Edwin's (the owner of the white 'Alpina') next project. But he'll probably sell that one when it's ready.

Thanks! It took some time and anger but I'm very pleased with the result.

It tried that one (the wall) at home but mrs. Jobjoris didn't like it. This place is real heaven, lots of 02's. Lots of E21's. Lots of E30's. All models after that just don't matter.
My Touring even ended up next to his Turbo after the Tectyl was dry:
And I know there's a E46 in the back. It needs to go!

is this a vintage bmw shop

it might look good or too busy on the touring. Hard to tell. I always liked this version. My boss has an un decaled '81 B6 2.3, it looks great in black.

Thanks! I hope it will, it's really getting out of hand when it comes to time/money.

Me neither, at first I was planning on driving it again this summer but that's getting less realistic every week!
![]() 04/23/2014 at 10:39 |
|
But it'll make it that much more enjoyable when you are able to finally drive it.

A reworked 2002 engine. It's transformed into a tii so with the Kügelfischer Einspritzung. Around 130bhp, 1000kgs.

Yes it is! Edwin owns the shop.
![]() 04/23/2014 at 10:43 |
|
Yeah, I'd be pleased also :)
How long did it take?
![]() 04/23/2014 at 10:47 |
|
That's what I'm afraid of. Mrs. Jobjoris will drive it mainly in the summer, it's hard to not get noticed anyway with this color so it'll probably get a veto.
It really neeeeeds rally-lights though. First going to mount Cibie Oscar+ with yellow bulps. But only two. And the Campagnolo Elektrons. Of course.

like a champ!
![]() 04/23/2014 at 10:48 |

That's probably right, I'll try to keep that in mind.

Well, at first the body needed 'some' work in the engine-bay area and near the passenger-door. Than the usual work to get it ready for the final spray at the shop (they only did the outer part). But they did a lousy job so it had to be redone. And in the mean time the donorcar (the one I have been driving last 3 years) had to be stripped. I've started this little project december last year.

Very nice! Glad to hear it's going well!

Although if it's a real Alpina like that B6, the decals are mandatory. No doubt about that. From the E21 and on (B6's and C1's) that is.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I'll grab a side shot soon once it is out of the garage... I kind of like it without (he also needs to put the Alpina rims back on)
![]() 04/23/2014 at 12:05 |

The guy who owns that 02 Alpina also has a green C1 2.3 with striping (excuse me for quality/thumb):

and an '02 Turbo in the back. Jay-sus

Hahaha, oh that one, my body was drying from the tectyl next to it:
This place is heaven. Really.

jesus man. Speechless
![]() 04/23/2014 at 14:05 |

I would only be speechless if I could do this to that Turbo:
(Sorry, I just love this pic and wanted to use it again, the size of that guy in such a tiny car, or is he just lifted up in process of that jump?)

I LOOOOVE that pic. Love it. That dude is totally huge
